HaloSUP Story – From Surf Trips Around the World to Water Adventures in Slovenia
If you ask us where the HaloSUP story really began, we could say somewhere between waves, surfboards and long journeys along the coasts of the world.
Long before HaloSUP existed, we spent years travelling, surfing waves and exploring different shorelines across the globe. The ocean guided us from one coast to another. Somewhere along the way, we also created a small travel agency, mostly for one simple reason – to surf as much as possible.
Today HaloSUP offers a wide range of water sports on the Slovenian coast, from SUP trips and kayak adventures to jet ski rides, pedal boats and other sea experiences in Izola and the surrounding coastline.
We organised surf camps, taught people how to ride waves, cooked homemade and exotic food, slept in surf houses and mixed in a little yoga and a lot of good energy. It was all inspired by an old idea that still guides us today: a healthy spirit in a healthy body.
Those trips were never just vacations.
They were a way of life.
And yet somewhere in the back of our minds there was always one simple thought.
Home is still the most beautiful place.
From Surf Camps to the Idea of HaloSUP
During all those travels, we often asked ourselves a simple question:
What will we do when it's time to come home?
The idea that eventually became HaloSUP appeared quite naturally. It wasn’t born from a big business plan or a spreadsheet.
It was more of a sailor’s idea.
What if we bought a van, filled it with paddle boards and drove from spot to spot along the Slovenian coast?
Paddle. Teach people how to stand on a board. Guide small adventures along the coastline. Explore hidden bays.
In many ways, it was simply a copy-paste of the life we were already living while surfing around the world — just this time at home, on our own sea.
While paddle boarding was the starting point of our story, HaloSUP today has grown into a full water sports center on the Slovenian coast, offering activities for families, groups and sea lovers of all kinds.
HaloSUP on the Slovenian Coast
Life, of course, had its own chapters. Family, small children and new responsibilities changed the rhythm for a while. But when the time was right, the idea of HaloSUP returned exactly when we needed it.
What started as a simple idea of wandering along the coast with paddle boards slowly grew into something bigger.
First SUP trips. Then courses. Then, more water activities.
But one thing never changed.
The spirit.
The same spirit we carried with us during surf trips around the world:
