School Trips by the Sea – Learning, Movement, and Connection
Educational School trips by the sea are not just an opportunity for fun and relaxation. They are a valuable learning environment where children and young people explore nature, develop skills, and strengthen social bonds.
The sea is not only water and waves—it is a classroom that offers countless opportunities for learning through experience.
At HaloSUP, we understand this well. That is why we have developed programs specifically adapted for schools, teachers, and physical education instructors.
Join us on the coast, where safety, knowledge, and fun go hand in hand.
School activities offered by HaloSUP
Our programs are designed to suit different age groups and interests. All activities take place in Izola – San Simon, Koper, Piran, and their surrounding areas—locations where conditions for safe and high-quality execution are ensured.
School sea trips with HaloSUP include:
SUP (Stand Up Paddleboarding) – introduction to basic paddling skills and group SUP activities that develop balance and coordination
Kayaking – single or tandem paddling that builds strength and teaches teamwork
Pedal boats – a fun activity for younger children, supporting motor skills and endurance
Banana boat / adrenaline couch rides – age-appropriate water activities for those seeking a bit more excitement
Guided boat trips – discovering the coastline, nature, and marine environment with an experienced guide
Sea sports days – full-day programs combining multiple activities with educational content
Sea sports days can also include beach volleyball and cycling trips.
All activities are adapted to the age of participants, group size, and weather conditions. Our instructors are experienced, qualified, and always present to ensure safety and a high-quality experience.
What does a typical sea sports day for schools look like?
The day begins with a warm welcome and a short introduction, where students learn basic safety rules and the structure of the day. Activities are scheduled to be dynamic while still allowing time for rest and social interaction.
A typical program:
Introduction & safety briefing – equipment overview, rules, and water safety
First activity – for example, a SUP and pedal boat excursion to Bele Skale, where students learn basic paddling techniques
Beach volleyball break – hydration, play, friendly competition, and preparation for the next activity
Third activity – cycling trip to the Strunjan salt pans or toward Koper
Optional activities that can be added:
Group games or an adrenaline couch ride for relaxation and fun
Guided boat excursion to explore the coastline and marine environment
Supervised swimming with a certified lifeguard
Visit to an archaeological park and Roman heritage sites
All activities are supervised by instructors who continuously adapt the program to the group’s needs.

Best time of year for educational school trips by the sea activities
The most suitable months for school trips to the sea are May, June, and September.
May – ideal for introductory trips and first contact with the sea
June – a great time when students are already looking toward holidays, but still benefit from focused activities
