SUPer workout for the youngest

Sup course for kids

The workout includes an instructor, equipment rental, and pool entry fee

SUPing has become a favorite activity for many families, as it's also a form of recreation where you can load your son and daughter, nephew, niece, or even a puppy onto the board and wander around our beautiful coast. While paddling, we invent stories about pirates, storms, and hidden treasures, occasionally swim and dive, all the while enjoying the best company.

Of course, children also want to take the "helm" or paddle. Initially, we will need a bit more patience, as children acquire balance more slowly. Their smaller mass also makes it harder for them to quickly push off on larger family boards. But everything is possible :)

To ensure children enjoy and safely learn this wonderful sport as quickly as possible, we have prepared a 2 x 2h course where we teach the child positioning, correct posture, and proper paddling in a fun way.

We will learn:

  • Orientation on the SUP (correct positioning)

  • Standing up and co-stepping

  • Long-distance paddling (on the excursion), rapid paddling (in a race)

  • 3 ways of turning on the SUP

  • Basics of rescuing a disabled person with a SUP

Warming up

Warming up is a priority to reduce the risk of injuries and muscle stretches, SUPs aside. We take warming up very seriously.

Why do we SUP in a pool?

The Olympic pool in Žusterna provides us with safe and consistent conditions for the course. At sea and other waters, currents, winds, and even small waves make learning difficult. In the pool, we therefore have an ideal environment where children retain maximum motivation and thus learn the sport fastest, which they will be able to master with greater confidence in more challenging conditions during the summer.

By learning SUPing, we will improve:

  • Coordination

  • Balance

  • Flexibility

  • Concentration
